Summary of the Norine Armstrong Women’s Triples held on July 23, 2025

16 teams entered the event. The draw was random and the teams played 4 games of 10 ends with a 90 minute time limit. Winners earned 3 points and one point for a tied game, with a differential of +/– 10 points!

Teams gathered at 8:45am for a photograph and an introduction. There were 2 trial ends of 2 bowls on the designated lanes. Play started at 9:00am.

The registration fee was $60 per team x 16 = $960- of which 50% was prize money. The 50/50 draw raised $140 and Heather Strasser of Dunbar LBC was the lucky winner of $70.

The trophy winners were: Belle Chan, Pat Kost and Shelley Tysoe of Kerrisdale LBC winning $240. 2nd place winners were: Marsella Leung, Maxine Shiu, and Yee Wong of South Burnaby LBC winning $150. In 3rd place were: Barbara Hsieh, Carrie Lai, and Betty Chan of New Westminster LBC winning $90. The prizes were awarded at 4:30pm.

Special thanks to all the volunteers: David, Tom, Brian, Ross, John, Gene and Peter who prepared the greens and cleared them, and to Debra, Brenda, Pat, Maureen and Nancy who provided and helped with the snacks and 50/50 draw and to Peter Cook for score keeping.

The weather was sunny and the new canopies were put to good use.
