Summary and recap of the event

The event was held on July 22, 2026.

16 teams entered the event. The draw was random and due to the extreme heat, 3 games of 10
ends ( instead of the planned 4) were played. There was a 90 minute time limit. Winners earned
3 points and one point for a tied game, with a differential of +/– 10 points!

Teams gathered at 8:45am for an introduction. There were 2 trial ends of 2 bowls on the
designated lanes. Play started at 9:00am.

The registration fee was $60 per team x 16 = $960- of which 50% was prize money. The 50/50
draw raised $160 and 2 prizes of $40 were awarded. An event group photo was taken prior to
afternoon play.

The trophy winners were: Vivien Chan, Gillian Poon and Serena Mak of Richmond LBC winning
$240. 2 nd place winners were: Ivy Qian, Misan Chan and Nana Tan of Richmond LBC winning
$150. In 3rd place were: Rainbow Lung’s team of Richmond LBC winning $90. The prizes were
awarded at 3:30pm. Congratulations to you all!

Special thanks to all the volunteers: David, Tom, Brian T, Brian C, Michael, John and Peter who
prepared the greens and cleared them, and to Brenda, Nancy, Pat, Amy, Bev, Bev 2, who
provided and helped with the snacks, and to Peter Cook for score keeping. Great support from
so many!!

The weather was hot and the canopies were put to good use.
